4th May 2021

We are currently gearing up for 2021's It's Your Move project! Soon we will begin our visits to year six pupils, to talk to them about moving up to secondary school and all that it entails. This year, It's Your Move is happening as part of our chaplaincy work with schools and so will run on a smaller scale. This means that we will be visiting fewer schools but in comparison to previous years, we hope the existing relationships with pupils and classes that have been built through chaplaincy, will enrich the session.

Secondary schools are big places, even more so for children who have been used to small village schools. Overall, our chaplaincy model enables us to invest more time in a smaller number of schools and to build deeper relationships with children and young people. It's a real privilege for us to have a presence in both primary and secondary schools and we hope that all of this combined will enable us to continue these relationships come September and provide some extra support during such a huge time of change.

Each session will last around an hour and will involve the interactive retelling of the story of Joseph, a 'lucky dip' bag to help the children think about some of the practicalities of secondary school and an opportunity for them to ask any questions that they might have. Every child will receive a free copy of the Scripture Union 'It's Your Move' booklet.
