Hours: 7.5 hours per week, term time only

Salary: JNC Scale Point 12 £4,193

We are looking for an authentic and enthusiastic Christian believer with a passion for sharing the Gospel with children and young people. If, in addition, you can listen with sympathy and understanding, offer help and advice where needed, and give appropriate feedback (with the relevant levels of confidentiality and safeguarding), then you may be the very person we are looking for!

We are seeking a chaplain, working in the Bishop's Stortford area, whose primary role will be to offer a pastoral and listening service in school. This will involve building relationships with youngsters who may be facing all kinds of challenges and will create opportunities to influence young lives for good. It will also lead to opportunities to share the Christian faith in lunch clubs, in collective worship, in prayer spaces, and in conversations with school staff.

As a schools chaplain you will be central to the spiritual life of a school, offering a distinctively Christian spiritual perspective. You will also be working alongside people of diverse beliefs and backgrounds and will be seeking to promote a fully inclusive ethos that encourages dialogue and understanding in a spirit of mutual generosity and respect.

As part of a small, enthusiastic, and well-trained team, you will be prayerfully supported as you seek to develop our relationships with local schools and deliver a holistic approach to sharing the love of God. This post, which is term-time only, will initially be for one day a week and will run until August 2022.
