JOB VACANCIES: SCHOOLS CHAPLAIN (PERMANENT) & SCHOOLS SUPPORT WORKER (TEMPORARY)

An exciting new opportunity has become available to work with Stort Valley Schools Trust as a Schools Chaplain for three days a week. This is a permanent post which we hope to be able to expand to five days a week in due course.

​

We are also looking for someone to cover the maternity leave of our current Schools Support Worker for two days a week. This role could be filled by the same person as the above and would potentially prepare the right candidate for a more full-time position.

​

In both roles, the successful candidate will be a dedicated Christian believer with a passion for sharing the love of Christ with children and young people in a school context and beyond. They will work as part of a supportive team under the direction of the SVST Team Leader, will be expected to work with initiative, and will be able to demonstrate sensitivity to pupils of all faiths and of none. A background in education or in youth work would be an advantage.

Familiarity with appropriate safe-guarding measures will be essential, and a satisfactory enhanced DBS check must be completed before employment can begin. Both roles involve working in the Bishop's Stortford and Saffron Walden area and will be paid at point 12 on the JNC Youth and Community Workers Scale.
